In today’s demanding climate, many GPs find themselves under constant pressure — juggling heavy workloads, complex consultations, and limited time for recovery. This mindfulness taster session offers a chance to pause, reconnect, and explore practical ways to manage stress and support your own wellbeing.
Through a series of simple, experiential mindfulness and compassion practices, we’ll explore how bringing mindful awareness into your day — and especially into your consultations — can help cultivate a greater sense of calm, presence, and connection with both yourself and your patients.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how mindfulness and compassion can protect against burnout, enhance your wellbeing, and help you find more balance and satisfaction in your work. You’ll also learn about A Mindful Practice and discover accessible ways to integrate these approaches into your personal and professional life.
All you need to bring is an open heart and mind, and please keep your video on throughout the session to support shared learning and connection.
This workshop will be led by Dr Alison Sedgwick-Taylor, Founder of A Mindful Practice, Independent Consultant Clinical Psychologist, CBT Therapist, and Mindfulness Teacher.
A Mindful Practice is an award-winning, independently evaluated programme, delivered to over 620 GPs and primary care staff across Gloucestershire, demonstrating significant benefits to wellbeing, self-compassion, and attitude to work. Our findings are soon to be published, and the programme is now expanding across the UK.
